Track creator sales on Shopify

Connect creator activity to eligible store orders, then keep sales reporting and commission decisions clear.

Explore the guide

Start with this

  • A Shopify order confirms a purchase; tracking determines which creator can receive credit.

  • Browser events alone are not enough to approve commission.

  • Permissions, tracking setup and refund updates matter as much as the initial connection.

Start with the store's order record

Shopify is the commerce record for what was ordered, paid, cancelled or refunded. A supported, configured CreatorCall connection can use that order evidence alongside creator links and codes. It does not turn every Shopify purchase into a creator-generated sale.

Keep the selected store, currency and reporting dates visible. Meta, TikTok Ads and AppLovin may each credit a purchase under their own methods; those reported totals should sit alongside Shopify evidence, not be added to it as extra unique sales.

Shopify: what an order record contains

Confirm the connection you can actually use

CreatorCall store setup is available to eligible accounts and campaigns with the relevant tracking or commission options. Having a Shopify store does not automatically enable a connection. Follow the route offered in Connections and confirm that the intended store is selected for the campaign.

The Shopify app route uses a store-specific installation supplied through CreatorCall. It should not be confused with a public App Store listing. An authorised store user must approve the requested access and complete installation before the app can serve as an order source.

  • Have permission to install the app and review its access to orders and discounts.
  • Check the store identity, currency and connection status after installation.
  • If using another supported route, complete its own confirmation and refund setup.

Separate a checkout event from confirmed revenue

A checkout event is useful evidence, but CreatorCall's browser-pixel route does not by itself confirm payable commission. It needs a supported confirming order source. Check that payment state and subsequent changes reach the campaign rather than assuming the first notification is final.

The Shopify app route handles order and refund notifications and checks for missed changes. Still review connection warnings. Test orders, cancelled purchases, returned items and creator gifts must not inflate the results you use to judge the campaign.

Calculate commission from the agreed eligible value

Where tracked-order commissions are enabled, the accepted creator agreement determines the rate, eligible merchandise, attribution window, cap and waiting period. A cash fee for the work remains separate. A reported ROAS or an unmatched pixel event does not create an extra payment entitlement.

Illustrative example, not a forecast

A partial refund changes the eligible amount

An eligible order contains 80 USD of merchandise after discounts. Assume the agreement excludes tax and shipping and pays 10% of that value: the provisional commission is 8 USD. If a 20 USD merchandise refund is confirmed before settlement, the eligible value becomes 60 USD and commission becomes 6 USD, subject to the agreed terms and cap.

Check a complete journey before scaling outreach

Follow one assigned link through the real storefront and checkout, confirm the resulting order in the supported test workflow, and check a refund adjustment. Include mobile checkout and any custom checkout or subscription extension you depend on. Keep test transactions out of performance claims and creator payouts.

If Shopify and an ad dashboard disagree, compare definitions, dates, currency and attribution windows before investigating missing sales. No connector can recover every unobserved interaction or prove that the campaign caused a purchase.
