Track creator sales on WooCommerce

Use your store's orders to check creator sales, with tracking that fits your WordPress checkout.

Start with this

  • Orders and coupon data provide evidence; the agreed rules determine creator credit.

  • WooCommerce's own traffic-source report is different from creator commission attribution.

  • Checkout customisation and webhook health need practical testing.

Prepare access to the right WooCommerce store

Where CreatorCall store setup is enabled for your campaign, the WooCommerce connection asks for the store address and a Read/Write REST API key. The connection reads orders and manages its own tracking webhooks and creator coupons, so a read-only reporting key is insufficient for that setup.

Create the key under an authorised WordPress user and use it only in the connection flow. WooCommerce requires working REST API access and non-Plain permalinks. Check that hosting security, redirects or a maintenance page do not prevent authorised access to the correct store.

Set up coupons and click tracking deliberately

The supported coupon route can create each creator's code from a template coupon you choose. Check its discount, product restrictions, expiry and permitted combinations before inviting creators to use it. A coupon that gives the wrong customer discount is still wrong even if tracking works.

Link attribution needs an additional bridge: the creator reference must reach the order. CreatorCall's WooCommerce order reader can recognise its click reference in order metadata, but that does not install the store-side capture for you. Follow the supplied tracking setup and test it with your actual checkout.

Do not confuse traffic source with a payable creator

WooCommerce's built-in Order Attribution Tracking records traffic sources and UTM information using its own last-click, session-based approach. It is useful context, but it is not the same as CreatorCall's accepted creator terms or a complete record of a buyer's journey.

A source labelled social does not identify a particular creator. Likewise, a creator's coupon can be eligible under the campaign agreement even when another source appears in the store's traffic report. Compare the underlying evidence and rules rather than forcing both screens to show the same label.

Keep the customer discount and creator earnings separate

Where commissions are enabled, agree the cash fee, commission rate, eligible value, attribution and payment timing before the creator accepts. The shopper's discount percentage does not automatically become the creator's commission percentage.

Illustrative example, not a forecast

One code, two different percentages

A creator code reduces 100 USD of merchandise to 90 USD. Assume the accepted commission is 8% of eligible merchandise after discounts, excluding tax and shipping. The provisional commission is 7.20 USD, not the customer's 10 USD saving. Payment still depends on confirmed eligibility, returns, the agreed cap and waiting period.

Keep delivery working after the first successful order

CreatorCall's WooCommerce route receives signed order notifications and checks changed orders to catch gaps. WooCommerce can disable webhooks after repeated failures. Review delivery logs and connection warnings after hosting, security, checkout or plugin changes; a past successful connection does not prove current delivery.

Check a tracked order, coupon order and refund path before relying on totals. If results differ from an ad dashboard, separate the provider's attribution from the store's orders. Missing browser references and cross-device journeys can leave real purchases unmatched; neither reported attribution nor a matched order proves incremental sales.
